Context
This week was the final week before half term, so the focus was on catching up on unfinished work and ensuring that all projects from previous weeks were completed to a good standard.
My main task was to finish editing any incomplete interview videos from other groups, bringing their projects to a final, polished stage. These interviews were part of our previous group production task where we created two-person interview videos related to sport and media.
The target audience for these videos remains young people aged 15–25 who are interested in sports media, sport discussions, and interview-style content. This audience typically consumes content on platforms such as YouTube, where short interviews and discussion videos are common.
Research
Technical
During the editing process, I researched techniques for multi-camera editing and interview post-production to improve the overall quality of the videos.
One key area I looked into was how to properly edit interviews in Adobe Premiere Pro, including cutting between camera angles and managing audio levels.
I also researched multi-camera editing workflows, which allow editors to switch between different camera angles efficiently during the editing process.
Another technical focus was improving audio clarity during post-production, ensuring voices remained clear and balanced throughout the interview.
This research helped me refine the edits and improve the overall quality of the final videos.
Story
I focused on selecting the most relevant responses from each interviewee to ensure the final video felt clear and engaging for the viewer. This involved cutting out unnecessary pauses, repeated phrases, or moments where the conversation slowed down.
I also ensured the answers flowed naturally so that viewers could easily follow the discussion even if they had not heard the original questions.
To help guide this process, I looked at how professional interview editors structure conversations to keep them engaging.
Style
Stylistically, I aimed to keep the edits clean and professional, maintaining the visual style created during filming.
The interviews used a studio-style setup with darker backgrounds and coloured lighting, so during editing I avoided adding unnecessary effects that might distract from the subjects.
Instead, I focused on:
- clean cuts between camera angles
- balanced audio levels
- consistent pacing
This style is commonly used in sports interviews and YouTube discussion content, where the focus should remain on the conversation rather than heavy visual effects.
Practical Skills
This week helped strengthen my post-production editing skills.
My main tasks included:
- Reviewing unfinished interview footage from previous weeks
- Organising clips inside Adobe Premiere Pro
- Cutting between multiple camera angles
- Removing pauses and unnecessary sections
- Exporting completed videos once the edits were finalised
Working on multiple groups’ interviews helped me practise editing efficiency and organisation, as each project required slightly different adjustments to improve pacing and clarity.

Evaluation and Reflection
What Went Well
- I successfully completed the remaining edits from previous interview projects.
- My editing speed and confidence improved while working on multiple videos.
- The interviews now have clear pacing and smoother transitions between camera angles.
Even Better If
- I could spend more time on colour correction to ensure both camera angles match perfectly.
- Adding subtle transitions between some cuts could improve visual flow.
- I would also experiment with adding captions or graphics to improve accessibility.
